Our residential On-Site Wastewater Treatment Plants

BIOROCK offers a complete range of compact and non-electric domestic sewage treatment plants, denominated into 6, 8, 10, 15 & 30 person systems. Installed in a parallel configuration, the treatment units can also cater for 60, 90, 120, or 180 people. The BIOROCK energy-saving wastewater treatment plants offer an ideal solution for residential, domestic wastewater treatment.

BIOROCK provides a revolutionary, efficient, and reliable compact wastewater treatment solution. Our compact packaged systems do not use blowers or air diffusors, or air pumps (commonly achieved with pumps and venturi nozzles). They don’t require electricity for the treatment process, resulting in minimal maintenance and repair costs, the lowest operational costs, and by far the longest desludge intervals. These unique advantages lead to significant costs savings for the owner compared to conventional wastewater treatment plants, as the reliability of the system is maximised, while minimising possible breakdowns, and eliminating the need for expensive spare parts.

The cost-saving Wastewater Treatment Solution

Not all Package Sewage Treatment Plants Wastewater are created equal. The ongoing operational cost is one of the most important considerations when buying a Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant. Electric On-Site Treatment Plants result in significant energy and operational costs in the future. By combining the competitive capital cost with the most cost-effective operating costs, BIOROCK is an investment in your future.

Why consider BIOROCK?

It is the only low-maintenance and non-electric wastewater treatment plant available in Southern Africa.

  • Structurally sound in all ground conditions such as high ground-water sites.
  • Ability to handle intermittent (seasonal) wastewater loadings, even during long absence periods.
  • Can also handle low utilisation levels without compromising the treated effluent quality.
  • Non-Electric septic Tank Conversion Unit: Our plant can be added to an existing septic tank.

The best final effluent testing results

BIOROCK residential On-Site Wastewater Treatment Plants clean the sewage to an astonishing level of purity. They achieved a final effluent with a 99% reduction in pollutants during the EN 12566-3 test period when following a 2 stage settlement tank. This is a lot cleaner than the leading electric sewage treatment plant that sells for the same price. BIOROCK units can be used anywhere where no water treatment works is available.

About the unique BIOROCK Media

The BIOROCK media material has a very high surface area which allows for the extensive colonisation of the necessary bacteria. The bacteria are already present in the domestic wastewater and does not need to be added at any time. The presence of these bacteria are essential for the effective treatment of the domestic wastewater.

The BIOROCK media is highly resistant to degradation, and remains stable over the proven service life of the systems - our more than 25 years' experience in the industry is proof of this.

  • Very stable inorganic material - it does not break down over time, like "organic" media.
  • Requires little maintenance - scraping and scarification is not necessary as with other media.
  • The structure and composition ensures unsurpassed surface area and unique treatment with exceptional purification results.
  • The media is an ecological material, and 100% recyclable.

BIOROCK offers a more efficient and environmentally friendly wastewater treatment technique compared to alternative and traditional techniques which have a high maintenance and energy consumption.

An Independant Organisation has ranked the BIOROCK Media as the most efficient Media of its category - click here to learn more
